Biography
Aria is a Cardiff violinist with a warm sound and more than ten years of professional performing behind her. She plays acoustic, electric and baroque violin, which is unusual and genuinely useful – it means one musician can give you a Bach partita in a stone church, a Taylor Swift set at the drinks reception and something with a bit more edge in the evening.
Her career has taken her a long way from home. She has performed for the Royal Family’s Christmas service at the Royal Chapel in St James’s Palace, and abroad in Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Latvia, Luxembourg and Malta – including the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, the Scuola Grande di San Rocco in Venice and the Davos Festival. Closer to home she is a familiar face at Hensol Castle, Craig y Nos, Llanerch Vineyard, Fairyhill and the Grove of Narberth.
Two things her couples mention over and over. The first is that she plays the whole thing from memory, so there is no stand and no sheet music between her and your guests – it feels like a performance rather than a recital. The second is that she writes to you before the wedding to ask what your colours are, so that what she wears fits your day rather than cutting across it. Neither is something you would think to ask for, and both are the reason her reviews read the way they do.
She offers three line-ups. Solo acoustic with no amplification at all, which is lovely in a church or anywhere with a bit of natural echo. Acoustic with a PA, which suits most rooms and any kind of music. Or electric with a PA, for a bigger, more modern sound.
