Biography
Cavatina is a violinist and a singer, which on a wedding day is a genuinely useful combination. She can play your ceremony on the violin, sing through the drinks reception, or move between the two – and it means one booking covers ground that would usually take two musicians.
She is based near Edinburgh and has played most of the wedding venues in Scotland, along with Òran Mór in Glasgow, the Waldorf Astoria and Brigadoon. Her most unusual booking was the opening of a Scottish Six Nations match at Murrayfield, in front of rather more people than a wedding.
Her repertoire is wide and it is arranged by decade, which makes choosing straightforward – everything from Ella Fitzgerald and Etta James through the Carpenters, Fleetwood Mac and Cyndi Lauper to Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and Chappell Roan. Alongside that she plays the ceremony classics, Scottish and ceilidh music, film music, and a Bollywood and Maher Zain set that almost no other violinist on our books can offer.
For your day she brings everything she needs, including the PA, and asks for about half an hour to set up and sound check. She plays solo with backing tracks, or can bring an accompanying musician if you would like a fuller sound. If there is a piece that matters to you for the ceremony, she is happy to learn it.
